Game Vision Statement

The name of my game is Sliver sky it’s an endless-action fast-paced 2D game designed to be made for pc and mobile devices. The elements of the game are dodging erratic objects, powerups to give you a hand and compelling music. The game would be played in an overhead view, which means that players will have an aerial view of the game layout. And the camera movement will move in response to the movement of the avatar, the camera movement would be like the camera movement in the Nintendo game Animal Crossing.

As you start to play you will navigate throughout the layout of the game and you will see objects fall from the sky, and objects will stay on the ground for a specific amount of time before they disappear.  overtime it will start to get progressively hard as the objects start to fall faster. And there will be obstacles on the ground that randomly pop out that can stop your movement, which can lead to you losing the game.

You can collect coins which you can use to buy protection, it can give you an early  advantage and you can use them anytime you want. But as always, the powerup last for a specific amount of time. There would be a customizable avatar and you could use coins to buy more costumes. After you play for some time, the music would start to change so if you are pro at this game you won’t have to listen to the same music repeatedly.

The game Key Features:

  • Endless
  • Dodging
  • Fast paced
  • Powerups
  • Coins

·       The genre of the game is a 2D action-endless game , it’s a single player game, if some aspects of the game don’t work the main elements, I would want to have in it is the game being endless, having to dodge objects and it would have to be fast paced and have some music.

The gameplay will be fun since I tried to add some originality to it, so players won’t feel like it’s a game they played before.  The game will require players to have a good reaction time, because it progressively gets faster and difficult. The layout of the game would start of empty, there would be like 6 rows and blocks would be spaces on the rows, and objects can take up a block on a row that rule would also apply to obstacles.

I got inspiration from the Super Mario Bros arcade version, to add some cool ideas to my game like, the coins and powerups that I mentioned earlier, I haven’t played the arcade version, but I thought it was good game that could help me shape my overall game ideas. The game is original and looks simple and I think that’s why it is fun to play.

  1. Hi Hamza! This game vision statement is quite good! And I found some things in your game that is quite amazing! What makes it good is that it brings back the times I used to play Super Mario and it seems quite simple and fun. I wonder if there is going to be a particular theme revolving around this game and what is the environment going to look like? What if you also tried putting in different types of characters inside of the game as well? To give different variations of characters for the player to choose from. Overall, I think this is a great game vision statement! And I hope this whole game development will go great! Good luck Hamza!
