Learning Challenge - The Secret Powers of Time
This blog is about The Secret Powers of Time, in the video psychologist Philip Zimbardo talks about how people’s thinking can be focused on the past, present, and future and the effects on their lives.

I thought
the video was very interesting it gave a good insight on how time makes a
person think, from a person getting angry for waiting too long for their
computer to on to boys spending too much time on videos games which leads to
less interest in school and causing them to dropout.
One thing that the video confirmed that I already knew to be true, is how educational methods and public relations messages are made for future oriented kids. Future oriented kids get told the negative questions of certain actions they know the consequences, so they don’t do it. Present Orient kids also know the negative consequences of their actions but they, but the knowledge does not change their behavior.
One new thing that I have learned that I didn’t know before was that there are six time zones that people live two people focus on the past, two focus on the present and two focus on the future. The people who focus on the past can be split into two, past positive people focus on successes and happy birthdays while past negative people focus on regret and failure.
The people
that focus on the present can also be split into two, one side avoids pain and tries
to seek knowledge while the other side thinks there is no point in having a plan
and that life is fated by the conditions they are under. One side of Future oriented
people rather work than play and try not to do some activities that could
hinder their work ethic while the other side is that people in religion think
that life begins after death.
One thing that I’m now curious to explore is to learn more about The Secret
Powers of Time, to act on that curiosity I would do some research on the internet by looking at videos and reading articles.
Overall, the video was fascinating and eye opening I think the points made were valuable information and it is worth considering to use.
